I am Josh Bond, and I am running for a Precinct 4 Town Meeting position.
I love Falmouth
Falmouth has been a part of my life for my whole life. I bought my house on Green Pond Road from my grandmother. She and my grandfather, Judy and Sam Levin, retired here in the 70’s and I spent all of my childhood summers here. They were pretty active in the community — my grandmother played the piano for a few decades at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation and the Unitarian Universalist Church. If their names ring a bell, please drop me a line and share your memories! I’ve now passed on my love for the town to my own family: my wife Susan and my teenagers Alex and Nina.
I am a scientist turned software executive.
My background is in science, studying Biology at MIT and I’m now the head of products at a scientific software company. I mention my science background because I want you to know that I am passionate about preserving our natural resources. Further, I approach every problem, including the complex issues facing our town, with a scientific mindset… separating facts from opinions and doing tons of research. I watch every select board meeting and many of the other town meetings. The scientist in me is tempered with the business leader perspective I’ve developed — taking into account return-on-investment, change management, and 5-10 year strategic planning. I think that this business-leader / scientist duality would serve the town well as a town meeting member.
Passion for natural resources
Data-driven philosophy
Strategic thought leader

Town Meeting 101
Most Massachusetts towns have a Select Board (executive branch) / Town Meeting (legislative branch) government structure. The Town Meeting Dates back to colonial times. Some Falmouth Town Meeting facts:
Falmouth has a representative town meeting (elected members) — this is the minority in the State (32 representative town meeting towns, 260 open town meetings)
I think Falmouth does it right. Elected town meeting members know that their jobs don’t just come twice a year — they keep informed on multiple issues throughout the year, attending committee meetings, reading reports and plans, and doing everything they can to back their votes with facts. I pledge to do the same.
Falmouth Town Meeting meets twice per year (April and November)
27 Town Meeting Members per precinct. Each term is 3 years, elected yearly on a rotating basis (9 per year per precinct).
